Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using EdgeWhisper ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

EdgeWhisper is a privacy-first voice-to-text transcription application for macOS. It uses on-device AI (Voxtral Mini 4B by Mistral AI) to convert speech to text locally on your Mac. All audio processing happens entirely on your device — no audio data is transmitted to any server.

Free Tier and Purchase Channels

EdgeWhisper offers a free tier with a daily transcription limit of 5 minutes. To unlock unlimited transcription, purchase the direct version from edgewhisper.com.

Auto-Renewal and Cancellation

Billing rules depend on the channel used to purchase EdgeWhisper. Direct subscriptions renew automatically according to the billing cadence shown at checkout (monthly or annual). You will be charged at the beginning of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

How to Cancel

Direct: Open EdgeWhisper on your Mac, go to Settings → Subscription → Manage Billing. This opens the Lemon Squeezy billing portal where you can cancel your subscription. Alternatively, click the billing management link in any receipt email.

What Happens After Cancellation

• Your subscription remains fully active until the end of the current paid period (the "paid-through date").
• You continue to enjoy all Pro features — unlimited transcription, all languages, and post-processing — until that date.
• After the paid-through date, your account reverts to the free tier (5 minutes per day).
• No further charges will be made after cancellation.

Impact on Your Activation Key

When you cancel a direct subscription, your activation key is not revoked. The key and session remain valid, but the entitlement check performed by the app will reflect your current subscription status:

• Before the paid-through date: The app reports Pro status — all features work normally.
• After the paid-through date: The app reports free-tier status — subject to the 5-minute daily limit.
• You do not need to uninstall or re-enter your key. If you resubscribe later, Pro features are restored instantly.

Reactivation

You can resubscribe at any time by visiting edgewhisper.com/buy-direct or through the Lemon Squeezy billing portal. Your existing activation key will automatically reflect the restored Pro status.

Refund Policy

We want you to be satisfied with EdgeWhisper. Refund eligibility depends on the purchase channel:

Direct Purchases — 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for all direct purchases. If you are unsatisfied within the first 14 days of your initial purchase, contact us at contact@elitizon.com with your order number and we will process a full refund.

For customers in the European Union or European Economic Area, this 14-day period corresponds to the statutory right of withdrawal under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU). You may exercise this right without providing any reason.

After the 14-day window, subscriptions are non-refundable but you may cancel at any time to prevent future charges. Partial-period refunds are not provided.

How to Request a Refund

1. Email contact@elitizon.com with your order number or account email.
2. We will confirm eligibility and submit the refund to Lemon Squeezy.
3. Lemon Squeezy processes the refund to your original payment method — typically 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

Impact of a Refund on Your Entitlement

A refund is different from a cancellation. Here is what happens to your access:

• Cancellation: Pro features remain active until the end of the current paid period (the "paid-through date"), then the app reverts to the free tier.
• Refund: Pro features are revoked immediately once the refund is processed. The app reverts to the free tier (5 minutes per day) right away.

Your activation key is not deleted — it remains on file. If you resubscribe later, Pro access is restored instantly without needing a new key.

Chargebacks

If a payment dispute or chargeback is filed with your bank, Lemon Squeezy handles the dispute process as merchant of record. We encourage you to contact us first at contact@elitizon.com — we are happy to resolve any billing issue directly and promptly.

License

Subject to these Terms, Elitizon Ltd grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any macOS device that you own or control. Direct downloads remain subject to the website activation and entitlement rules described at checkout and on the support pages.

Intellectual Property

EdgeWhisper and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Elitizon Ltd. The App is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The Voxtral Mini 4B model is developed by Mistral AI and provided under the Apache 2.0 open-source license. All rights to the model remain with Mistral AI.

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use EdgeWhisper only for lawful purposes
• Not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Not redistribute, sublicense, or rent the App
• Comply with all applicable laws regarding audio recording and transcription in your jurisdiction

Privacy

Your use of EdgeWhisper is also governed by our Privacy Policy. EdgeWhisper processes all audio locally on your Mac and collects no personal data.

Disclaimer of Warranties

EdgeWhisper is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that transcription results will be perfectly accurate.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Elitizon Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, where Elitizon Ltd is incorporated. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Hong Kong.
